Meet Fifi

Hi guys and girls,

Thought I would introduce myself as a new owner and new member to the world of S2000’s from Gillingham, Kent.

Coming from a 2013 Renaultsport Clio tuned to 235bhp/260ftlbs to a 2007 GT (albeit with the hard top awol) it’s going to be new exciting adventure for me. The aggressive noise and the way it picks up on VTEC makes me smile and gets my heart rate up. It’s nice to back to basics with a slick manual box and no traction control.

Picked this beaut up yesterday with 138k on the clock, one owner from new and a full Honda service history, having checked it over in more detail today (up on stands) I’m pleased that it only has a few very minor rust spots and the arches and underbody are clean.

I look forward to seeing where this new project takes me with the car.

I do have a couple of questions if you don’t mind.

1) My car is a 2007 but it doesn’t have the ASR switch, it was my understanding that this was standard post 2006, not that it’s an issue just curious as to if my research findings were just wrong?

2) The headlamp washers need replacing where an animal appears to have taken a nibble at them, can’t seem to find any in my google search, can anyone point me in the right direction? Ideally I would like to replace them but if it proves too difficult to source a pair I’ll remove them and smooth it over.

3) I need a replacement aerial as mine appears to have gone walkabouts, I tried searching earlier for an answer but to no avail. Does it have to be a genuine Honda item or would an aftermarket universal one fit?

I look forward to my new adventure and thank you for taking the time to read this.

That's a cracking ride.

You may have to visit a breaker and get lucky for the washers. I don't imagine there are a lot of them floating around. If it was me I would remove them since they are just going to leave water spots on the shiny paint.

Does anyone know about the aerial by the way? May just order a genuine replacement if at all possible when I’m paid again anyway. Only want it because it looks odd with just a hole there, I’ll be replacing the standard stereo soon for one with bluetooth, usb and DAB.

black on black is very popular here in Northern California. One was up for sale on Monday at Carmax, 2008 with 67k miles for $24,995. Sold and gone in two days.
