Default New NoVa s2000

Just picked up my 2002 Sebring Silver S2000!! I drove 580 miles from DC metro area to Kentucky to pick her up, only 72000 miles (price was unbeatable). The drive back was breathtaking, carving through the heart of West Virginia while getting familiar with the s2k was quite the experience. Too bad i just missed the mid Atlantic skyline drive, but I'll be there next year for sure. Already planning on changing trans and diff fluid today anything else engine wise i should be looking at changing? Besides the oil, that was done before I left.

6 months after first owning mine I'm still looking things over replacing things. Getting her just the way I like it though BTW, sad to hear another s2000 has left the back roads of KY :/ Good luck though!

If you don't have a baseline record of when everything was last done, I would do a full inspection.

Brake, clutch, trans, diff, oil, coolant changes

Check your spark plugs / Change them

Check your brakes / brake lines / brake pads / rotors

Look for any rust on the body / do a rust proofing (Even if you don't plan on driving it in the winter, it's more of an insurance thing for me)

There are a couple of lists on here .,https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/102...replace-first/

seems like the most comprehensive

nice to see another S cruising around NoVa! Make sure to swap out to the ap2 retainers asap. Wish my "drive home" experience could have been as nice as yours. Mine was a hour and half drive through a complete (could barely see in front of me) downpour from md.

Kryptonite, thanks for the comprehensive write up. Half that I was planning on (lurker for a bit) but rust proofing, brake lines didnt even cross my mind.
