I have been a member and owner - of a black/black 2004 since 2006, but have never posted (sorry about that - have not been an active user of any s2k sites). Anyway, I have under 20,000 miles on my bone stock car, and for the first time yesterday, under pretty controlled conditions, about 70 degrees temp, I decided to find out just how fast she would go. I topped out at 138 (about 7300 rpm I think, top down) - maybe could have got 139 or 140, but was a little nervous about it -though car felt great. Anyway, the only tests I've seen recently were for the 2-liter, not the 2.2, but they showed something like 147-148. Anybody have any thoughts? One thing - did seem very close to dropping below 6000 rpm from 5th to 6th - certainly lost a couple of mph from shift. Hope nobody thinks too badly of me - I waited for 5 years to try it, and just could not resist and I do love that car. Thanks.
