New Owner
In the past of been a bit of a car guy. I've previously owned a 400bhp STi (hard work), an SL500 (bit of a soft cruiser), an F355 (sublime but too expensive to run), M3 convertible (heavy), BoxsterS (too common in Marin) and others but I guess I've hankered after the S2000 since a friend let me drive his and I managed a gorgeous controlled oversteer on the second decent corner (having only managed that before with my old TVR Griffith 500 I was most impressed with myself or perhaps it was the car!)
I was also thinking about the Elise or Exige, different type of car I know, but some similarities. I signed onto EliseTalk and S2Ki and lurked. Both groups seem fair, objective, respectful of each other (unlike some). I read about the pros and cons of each. I was struggling to make my mind up.
Then, I got word of the Honda lease incentive and that broke the deadlock. I have not leased for some time but I am in the middle of buying a house in the Bay Area (scary) and I need lots of cash for my deposit. Saw here that what appears to be a great deal could even be beaten, set Shawn Haghighi at Marin Honda the challenge and he met it (and some, I have the deal of the century but promised not to disclose too many details). The first time I've leased in a while but with the numbers he put together I would be crazy not to.
Anyways, got her home today, cleaned her immediately (a tradition, I don't like dealers messing with my car) and took some pics (another tradition). Only 59 miles so I'll be taking it easy for a little while. The little drive home was fun, I reckon we're going to be happy together...
I look forward to meeting some of you, the Bay Area S2000 scene appears very active, hope you don't mind a 38 year old management consultant...
Hope these pics work, not great, light was fading..

Thanks !
Shawn showed it to me and I forgot. I was so excited I wasn't really listening. Plus about 3 people stopped me in the dealership lot to ask me about the car. S2000's are quite rare in Marin (they all drive Beemers, Audis, Mercs, Porsches...)
I did remember the fuel release location which is pretty sneaky to.
I better read the manual ;-)

Lozzy,
Congrats, and welcome aboard!!!
That Laguna is a marvelous color!
And Marin is such a great place to have a nice sports car.
Best of luck through the break-in, and definitely give the manual a thorough read -- there are quite a few things to know (like don't use the spare on the rear, don't do anything but flatbed tow, etc...).
If you ever spot a Suzuka up near George Lucas' place, that's a fellow s2ki'er named Vince who I used to talk to a bit. He hasn't been here lately.
Anyway, if you enter your VIN into your user profile (click on the MyS2K link at the top of the page), you'll make a transition from enthusiast to owner.
Also, if you're going to hang around a bit, consider a s2ki.com membership.

Beware, I already scratched my paint with the cover hooks. Better tape them for better protection.
