New Owner in CT..VW R32 -> Evo -> S2000
What's up guys. Just thought I'd throw out an introduction since I'll be around the forum here fairly frequently.
I just put a deposit this afternoon on a 2003 yellow S2000 that I found with only 35,000 miles on the clock, completely OEM, just under $20k, and looks and drives like she's in awesome shape. I should be taking delivery within the next few weeks, and I can't wait. I have a general knowledge about the car (enough to know that I should own one), but I still have alot to learn.
I come from a fairly diverse background of cars in the past 4-5 years or so since I got out of college.. The most recent vehicle was a 2005 Evolution VIII. I had nothing but problems with the car. Engine blew at 15,000 miles, no warranty work (had modifications), had issues with parts companies for motors, etc. Just sold her as a rolling chassis a few months ago and my 201,000 mile beater Cherokee doesn't cut it for 100% of my driving since I commute 120 miles round trip to work 5 days/week. I'll most likely be splitting the difference with the S2k, and the Jeep will take over again full time in the winters, naturally.
The Evo: Intake/full exhaust/Tien suspension/Hallman MBC/tune

Before the Evo I owned a VW R32 for 13 months or so. Absolutely loved that car, but after 47,000 miles in 1 year I wanted something faster so I traded her in for an Evo. The Evo was a rocket after $1000 in mods (300 awhp/315 awtq), but sometimes I regret that decision
The R32: H&R springs/F&R sways/F lower tie bar/R upper tie bar/electric cut-out/AEM intake/REVO software/OZ wheels/and a bunch of exterior stuff

Before the R32 was my old Jeep CJ7. Talk about a blast. I'll own one again, but after college when I moved all of my stuff from the parents house to an apartment I didn't have nearly enough room for the spare parts required to operate a 1983 Jeep. I had extra motors, 2 full sets of axles, all sorts of leaf springs, exhausts, intake manifolds, hard top, soft tops, bikini tops, body panels, seats, transmissions, etc. I was sorry to let that jeep go but I just didn't have the room.
1983 CJ-7: 4" suspension lift/front hoop & spacers/33"x15.5" swampers/4.2L/T5 5 speed tranny/a bunch of other goodies

So that's my deal. From the looks of things this should be a fun forum.

looks like you drive your cars pretty hard, if you wanted more power you purchased the wrong car lol unless you FI it. fun car, great with top down, winter I guess you'll wonder why you bought the car but good weather will make you forget those winter days. I've driven several stock s2ks, fun to drive still high revving but you won't find any torque lol. FI it and call it a day hands down all you ever wanted after that.
WOW, you had some nice cars my friend!
Your EVO looks very very good and mean with the dark rims
I love your R32, especially for the engine, sound and AWD
Keep in mind that the S2000 will be a whole other cup of tea being RWD in terms of road holding, grip, driving in rain/mud/snow

Thanks guys.
The snow pictures are mostly from Winter-X events (Autocross in the snow), or just plain old fun. I can't let a good AWD car go to waste
I am aware the S2000 is a completely different handling/driving car than those I've owned in the past, but it's nothing anyone can't easily get used to with a small amount patience and practice.
I definitely didn't but the S2000 for large amounts of HP. I picked this car because of it's reliability, history, style, gas milage (or so I tell myself), driving fun-factor, and sporty nature. It also doesn't hurt that there are thousands of modifications available, and the top comes off.

so be careful. You'll definetly love the way this car handles in the warm weather especially in the twisties.
PS it will be nice to see anopther sports car at coffee night instead of all the 4dr car in a can's with the same mods
1st mods should be wheels and frt lip

Haha, yea I figure now we can start lowering the percentage of grocery getters at java nights
I might hang off on the wheels until the rubber wears out on the stockers, but I am definitely looking at front lip, rear trunk lid spoiler, suspension, & exhaust. We'll chat about mods this Tues (if you're there).
