New Owner in FL
Greetings S2KI,
As I turned my first x,000 on the odometer yesterday, seems like a good time to introduce myself and my new S2000. I'll try to keep the story on the short side...
I've had several MGBs, a Mustang convertible and have a HT Miata. I've been driving a '84 Porsche 944 that I sold last month and was looking for a replacement. I had found and negotiated a price on a MY03 Yellow w/ 23k on the clock. I was headed an hour south of home, check in hand, to test drive the car when I checked my email and had a reply from an online add that had no pictures and little description. The email stated that the owner didn't know how to post pictures but the car clean, etc. Seeing the area of Florida where the car was, I knew just what that meant. It was also 30 minutes from where I was headed. I called three times and left messages. Finally, while driving the other S200 from the dealer, the owner called. I got back to the dealer and headed east as fast as I could. The first car was priced Ok, but it wasn't clean and they wanted top dollar to cover what they paid for the trade.
Anyway... As soon as I got to the persons house I knew this was the car. The seller was an older widow and the car was her husbands baby. He had past back in February after a couple years of being sick. The car, a 2005 NFR with 16,300 on the odometer! My wife and I hit it off well with her and, I believe, she decided I was the guy to care for her late husbands "little red car". After a very short test drive at low speed in the gated golf community... I returned with a very big smile and told her I would love to care for her husbands car and asked what she wanted for it. Her price, $4k below the online ad and $1,500 below KBB value. The car was 100% serviced by the original Honda dealer and it had new tires. The original tires had dry rotted and were replaced by the Honda dealer through a "tires for life" program. She also found the second key and fob and mailed them to me this week with a very nice note, saved me another $400!
Since bringing the car home I've shined it like a diamond (wash, clay bar and waxed), replaced the head unit with an Alpine BT unit, Alpine amp, new speakers and a Modifry DCI with a PNP harness and SCV kit. I've also changed the shift boot and put in a set of leather visor covers. Today I got my Modifry convertible strap fix in the mail. I've got a little paint touchup I need to do, plus some minor swirl marks to remove. Always need a project!
So, that's enough from me. Glad to have joined the S200 family!

This is my favorite kind of intro. Welcome, Frank in Florida!
