Default New Owner Signing On

Hello all. After years of seeing these wonderful cars on the streets of Los Angeles and dreaming of buying one I finally plunged in and started looking. Found an immaculate 2000 in Silver Stone Metallic/red and black interior with 33K miles on it and just had it delivered this week. Best -- or certainly most fun -- car I've ever owned. I have one question -- why does the passenger side window go down when the top is going up? Is this for some very wise reason I haven't divined, or a glitch in my electrical system?

Welcome! Post pics!

Only the passenger side goes down when you operate the top? They both should (or maybe it's MY car with the glitch?)

Yes, on mine only the passenger side. Do you know why the windows would go down at all when the top goes up? To make sure there's air to breathe?

Both of mine go down too. Are you sure the drivers wasn’t already down?

The windows go down so as not to interfere with the top / seals as the roof operates up and down. Both of them should lower, if memory serves. I haven't used my soft top since I bought this last S2000 since it has a hard top so my memory may be a bit fuzzy.

Dumb question -- does the driver's side power window work normally?

Yes, both passenger and driver windows operate perfectly.

Try this....
To reset the driver's window auto-down:
Close the window.
Turn off the car.
Turn the key to ON.
Lower the window and keep holding the switch down for 10 seconds after the window's all the way down.
Raise the window and keep holding the switch up for 10 seconds after the window's all the way up.
Turn the key to OFF.

That TOTALLY WORKED! Both windows how go down perfectly, in unison, as the top comes up.
How did you know how to do that??
