"Use had had for the earlier of two past actions; use have had for a recent action or one continuing to the present."
Utilizing this reference 'have had' is the more appropriate wording.

Where are you go in France ?

it was a month long trip...we were able to visit paris(of course), tours, bordeux,lyon, then back to paris

I'm not sure how that supports your case. The earlier of the past actions is the possession of the other Hondas (had had). The recent/continuing to the present action (have had) is the ownership of the S2000.

(I'm assuming that he doesn't have the CRXs, Delsols, and Civics anymore and that the ownerships of said vehicles ended either near the time, about two years ago, or prior to of the acquisition of his S2000. Accordingly, the possession of them are neither recent or continuing to the present.)

Yes all these auto Honda, I had them before my current S2000...

It stays in me so today, a civic EJ with swap B18C6 to make of the circuit...
