Default New to S2000 from Miata

I just bought and '06 with 92K on the clock. It was a bit worse for wear in the looks department, especially interior but was mostly not relevant to me as I'll end up tracking it a bit. Has some dings but fortunately my father in law does PDR for a living. For reference, I'm coming from a boosted '00 miata. Pics, or it didn't happen:

It's all stock with exception of an intake. Hope to learn a bunch and maybe add a bit from my experience in the miata world in regards to tracking and not ask too many redundant questions...

Welcome aboard!

I've always liked the NB miata and yours looked damned fine.

Looks even better now with the 'upgrade'

Thanks it was a definitely a nice example NB and I paid for it $$$ in parts. The main reason I made the switch was I'm 6'2" and even with an aftermarket seat the NB was too tiny to take long trips in. While the S2K is no Cadillac I was able drive it home 8 hours without issue. The S drivetrain is also so much more refined. At 75 MPH and with Miata engine at 4K RPM...it was like you were strapped to the engine, not so in the S.

I learned a ton in the miata...about driving, suspensions, and boost. Now I need to find a hardtop for the S2000 and get a roll bar installed. After that i'm going to put new tires on it and do a few track days as-is before I go crazy installing suspension or other bits like I did in the miata. I might do an oil cooler but that's it.

Welcome! I bet you'll really enjoy the new car. I too came from the Miata world nice car, I enjoy the S2000 more on track, even though the miata was 325whp and 2250lbs, I'm running faster times in the S.
