New S2000 Owner
Hello everyone,
This afternoon I test drove a 2006 S2000, and I immediately fell in love. For the past two weeks or so I have been looking into getting an S2000, and todays drive finally sealed the deal. Being that I know very little about these cars I wanted to come here and see what I can learn before I pull the trigger on one.
Before I begin my questions, I will give you a little background of me. My first car was an Acura TSX,I modified it over the time I had it(coilovers, exhaust, intake, rims, etc.) then got rid of it A year later I sold it and moved onto a 2005 Subaru STI, after about 7 months I sold that due to it being a money pit. I am currently driving a 2014 WRX which I have done a whole bunch of stuff too(coilovers, full exhaust, fuel pump, tune, etc.) Being that it is summer I wanna get an S2000 as a daily then during the winter I will get a beater jeep and garage the s2k.
Now my questions are, what should I look for when buying one? Is there any specific signs that the car has been beaten? Are there any signature faults that happen to all s2ks? What should I being paying for an early AP2? How long do these cars usually last? How is the maintenance on these cars? I have never owned a rwd car before, what should I expect? Thank you for your time, I look forward to the advice.
