Default New S2000 Owner

Hello everyone! I just got my S2000 on Sunday. Bought it from my dad. I'm the one that told him about the car in 2002 - then he bought it.

In 2003 I bought an RSX Type-S. Now I have both of them in my garage. Haven't touched the RSX since I got the S2000. What a car!!!! I can't believe the power this thing generates from just being a 4-banger.

I'm hoping to learn more about this car from you guys since I'm a new owner.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 38 - live in Valley Park, MO. As I said, I have both the RSX Type-S and the S2000 now. I'm actually thinking about trading in the RSX for a Jeep Wrangler since the winters get pretty rough around here, but it's kinda hard to part with the RSX. It's a really fun car.

So, that's my intro. Any suggestions on trading the RSX would be appreciated. Just can't make up my mind at this point.

welcome man and congrats on the car. As for selling the RSX. I cant really say which way you should go, but if you do I have a small bit of advise. Dont get a Jeep. They arent as reliable as they used to be. If I were you I would look into a Toyota Tacoma. I am alittle bias though since I am a huge toyota fan for offroading. You may not have any plans to do that kind of thing, but look at it this way, the vehicle that breaks on the trail first will usually be the one that breaks down on the road as well. Toyota wins that category hands down. Take it easy. Just giving you something to thknk about.

Congrats. As far as trading the RSX in, it seems more practical knowing you get some harsh winters. I don't really having a specific suggestion to what car/suv you should get, but I would trade it in for something AWD. Maybe if I knew your budget I could break it down a little bit more. Anyways, enjoy and drive safe.

Thanks for the responses everyone. My RSX is paid off in 3 months - it's worth around $15,000 so I'd like to keep it under that.

I've heard Jeeps aren't that reliable and I know that Toyotas are, so thanks for the input.

I'll post some pics as soon as I wash it up!

Everyone I've taken for a ride in this car is AMAZED at the power and sound. My friend as an S500 convertible. I think mine sounds better. But man, that thing has some torque. My other friend has an Aston Martin DB9. I can't really compare the S2000 to THAT.

Again, thanks for the replies, and I'll post some pics as soon as I can.

An RSX with some good tires should be fine in Missouri winters. Hell I'd love to have an RSX as a second car. I used to drive my GSR year round with stock tires and with some snow tires you could go just about anywhere in the winter with a small FF. We've got a member here in the Gateway club that drives his AP1 year round with the help of some snow tires.

Welcome to the boards and enjoy the S2000 this summer!

p.s. be sure to introduce yourself on the Gateway S2ki forum: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=80

Congratulations on the purchase! Enjoy your summer.
PUT THAT S AWAY FOR THE WINTER!! Come spring time, I fall in love all over again; it's like getting a brand new car every spring (and it keeps it safe from the corrosive effects of road salt... do they salt the roads in MO?)
