Default new s2000 part 2

So I just got a new 2006 S2000.

In 6th gear at 80mph, I'm already at 4000rpm. My old accord at 100mph ran at 4000rpm. Is this normal or is the s2000 just a gas guzzler at high speeds?

Don't complain but be happy you don't own an AP1 like me. My car revs higher than yours at 80mph. That's just how our cars are built. It has its advantages and disadvantages. I'm just waiting oh so patiently so i can trade my AP1 for an AP2.

Remember you have an 8000 RPM redline versus 6500 in an Accord. You're going to run a higher RPM in a give gear at a given speed. This engine is designed to rev -- embrace it; love it!

So does this mean I will be using more gas at 80mph and 4000rpm than my old accord at 3000rpm? If so, I'll just take my old accord when I need to travel further than 20 miles.

I clocked my Honda at about 17mpg with freeway and city driving. I was assuming the s2000 would save more with the manual and a rating of 20/26. Sorry if I sound retarded.

Premium gas during these times sure hits you hard per fill up.

AIX, I hope you didn't buy this car for gas mileage. As sports cars go, it's pretty good, but c'mon... The whole point of this car is naturally aspirated power at high RPMs.

And, tbone, what are you saying? You don't like engine revs? you sure won't be much happier with an AP2...
