I am looking to pick up a s2k really soon, I love the berlina black as well. I have a few questions and also I know that this has been touch on several times but if you guys can link me to some threads about it. I'll be very grateful. I have a budget as well, I am looking to be spending 22k or less on it. What are the differences between the 2000-2003 models since those are the ones that fall into my price range. In addition, I would also like to mod my s2000 so a few mod pointers will help as well...other that i am proud to be a part of this community and will continue reading and absorbing as much info as i can.

Welcome aboard!! You can find anything you want to know about the S2000 here. Just do a little bit of searching. It will be easy to stay below your 22K budget with an AP1. Good luck with your search!

well so far I guess the 2002 models are the better models since the plastic windshield in the back was converted to glass as well as an upgraded sound system. There were a few threads that i found about the s2k's tranny, how sometimes it will pop out of gear? Is it a recall or just freak ocassions, I go to the track often mostly autocross and a few drag so i was wondering if anyone had problems with the tranny. I was lucky enough to take an ap1 ( 00-03 s2000 correct?) for a track run and it handles so well. The sound of the engine sounds so amazing when rev matching, and it even has enough speed to pull out of a corner when i'm using heel toe techniques...I just love how the pedals are located. But I have a few questions now that i read through some of these threads but they have to do with modding but since i don't have the car yet..i'll continue reading until i get the answers. thanks again.
