New S2K in Ohio
Hi all,
Finally decided to stop lurking and join the site since I get alot of know-how from here!
I bought my 2006 Berlina Black S2000 this August from the original owner in upper Michigan and drove it back to Columbus area where I live. Main reasons for this car was obviosly original owner and car had only 18.5K on the clock, was black and bone stock. Seemed like it was awfully hard to find a black one without any aftermarket parts in Ohio, so I widened my search and found the right car that met my requirements.
So far, experience has been excellent and I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I did a complete fluids change minus coolant after It got home (yeah, it was probably unnessesary to do trans/diff and brake fluid, but I wanted to know when all the changes were done and exactly what was in the car)
Future plans after this winter:
-Try to find Black OEM hardtop
-New tires come spring (currently researching, original tires from '06 are still on the car!)
-Possible new rims with tires. Would like a set of TE-37's in grey/gunmetal, but $$$.
-Fix a few of the minor scuffs/road rash to front bumper lower area
-Stainless Brake lines
-Drive a lot!
Further down the road next year or TBD:
-Replace seats (I'm 6'2", and sit jsut a bit too high in the car for my liking) for harnesses and to keep OEM leather seats in good condition
-Add beforementioned harnesses and rollbar for SCCA/NASA HPDE's and Auto-X (possible soft top removal?)
-Better brake pads
-Remove radio/AC (I've got 8000 RPM to listen to and no roof)
-Replace Airbox with better intake, replace header/exaust with better performance unit with slightly more volume
-Adjustable coilovers and BBK (after I do enough high performance driving to justify cost)
-Motor only build for MOAR POWAH! and increse redline with SCIENCE to have screaming 9K+ AP2 that sounds like an F1 car on track (This probalby won't happen, but it's fun to dream!)
Hope to become an active member of the site!
Will add some photos after my PC decides to stop hating free image hosting sites.
Thanks and happy motoring!

Sounds like you're off to a good start!
You might look into aftermarket lower seat rails; I believe a couple (or maybe a few
) different companies make them. Hope you don't plan on daily driving throughout the winter on 6-year-old tires!

Another Ohio new S2000 owner here also! Good luck to you and your plans for it!! Sounds like it will be sweet! They sure are a blast to drive aren't they! In fact, I just let my wife take mine to pick up her grandma for dinner tonight! It is only 5 miles away... how much trouble can she get into
