Default New s2k owner

Just got my s2k a week ago. It's an 01 with 50k, very nice condition. It came with catback exhaust, which was nice.. Anyways, I took a drive to show off to a friend today and it has been a little cold outside. I gunned it and around 6k rpms and hit rev limiter (I assume). This is because the engine was cold? I'm new to sports cars, and honestly don't know much about the car, that's why I've come here. Any advice for performance will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Congratulations!!! Yes, you hit the limiter. Until you reach about 3 bars is when you can vtec. Enjoy and drive safe.

I wont be punching it when the engine is cold. Anyways, today I got rear ended. Looks like the rear bumper, trunk, and the rear right lights will need to be replaced. The quarter panels look fine, but I'm going to find out in about 10 hours what the actual damage cost is. I have a friend that owns his own body shop so luckily I'll be able to get a cheap price. The kid that hit me was 17 in a newer Jeep Grand Cherokee. His dad showed up and apparently is willing to pay everything. We're going to try to keep it off an insurance claim. What do you guys suggest I do with this situation now at hand? Thanks for all replys.. and for my new car.

Hi ... just got put on to this forum by a mate who owns one of these beautifully engineered cars. I just got mine a couple of months ago and have been loving it since.

I moved on from a DC5R to an AP1, the ride and the control is so different from being in a fwd. I have much to learn about driving this car as i am only recently becoming more aware but having put a good set of Toyo T1R tyres on her i feel more confident takin her around corners Well, better than the Conti's that came with her.

Bought mine Berlina Black with red and black interior which suits the car just fine. Got the AP2 leather center console as well as the wind deflector with it. Not sure if that is an AP2 thing or AP1. Anyways .. just want to say a big hi from Australia with my lovely S2K. Cheers
