Cool New s2k owner

Hello i just transistion from a 99 integra gsr to a 2004 honda s2000 silvertone with red/black interior. The joy of driving the gsr was amazing and i was sad when i had to sell for a better car. The gsr was well taken care of too. it had 70k original miles on it and tons of upgrades. Well now i am an owner of the 2004 honda s2000 and was so happy. The car is a thriller. I am looking forward to upgrade the modify the car . Especially the new kraftwerks supercharger kit. The interior of the s2000 is so sexy with the red/black interior. I bet all the new owner and old owner love the s2000 just as much as i do. Proud owner and thank you honda for making such a nice car.

The car i bought has 53k miles on it.
K&N intake the fuel injected one.

Headers looks brand new. but i can't make out the brand look everywhere can't find it. i didnt look under the car yet to see if i can find the brand.

stock exhaust.

I have one question to any tech guru out there. The car has 53k miles on it already and i want to know when do i have to change the clutch? When will i know when the clutch need to be change? What is the average clutch life for a 2004 honda s2000?

Thank you

Welcome and congrats on your purchase.

Clutch life depends on how the owner (or previous owner) treated it. Some owners have gotten over 100k miles on their clutch. I think 60-70k miles is more common.

You'll be able to tell if the clutch is slipping. That can be tough to tell in an AP2 since it comes with a clutch delay valve (CDV) which slips the clutch for you if you shift to aggressively.

BTW...it is header...we have just one.

Take a pic of the header and we might be able to identify it. Post the pic in the Mods forum.

i wonder if i'm on the original clutch. mileage says no but i'm thinking yes. the old trick i used before was to be in 6th at 45 mph and gun it, if the rpm's raised it was slipping. i'd think that's hold true with the s2000. not very often that i'm gunning it in sixth while at forty-five miles an hour though (four gears to high for me)...
