Default New S2K Owner in Austin Tx

Hey Forums, I am a brand new s2k owner! I have wanted one for quite some time now, and just recently moved back to Texas from Alaska and now its actually feasible for me to have one since im able to drive it year round down here!

Im stoked about owning my s2k, but im new to the whole Honda car thing! I have always owned Toyota Trucks, having been up in AK for so long and im wanting to know more info on the vehicles.

I bought my 2001 S2K about 2 weeks ago, since owning it, I have done what I think is usual "new owner" stuff to it, namely changing the fluids, oil, spark plugs, and while im at it, Im thinking about changing the coils as well. Not too sure where to get coild from tho. I know in abour 6 moths, Im going to begin the engine build on it, doing most of the work myself, so should I go ahead and start with the ignition system now? i.e. Higher grade Coils? Or replace it with OEM ignition coils instead?

My buddy in Ak has a new 2011 STi, and he always talks about how beastly his Subie is, and to be honest, it is pretty nasty, but all stock. I just want to take my S2K up there in about a year and rip the pants right off of his STi, honestly. Thats my motivation.

Any info on where to begin is appreciated!!

Welcome! also a first time honda owner as well! for now I think OEM coils would be ok. I wouldn't look too much into it until you know more in which direction your build is going to go.
