Default New s2k owner here.....WOW

Hey guys after years of trying to find an s2k i finally got a 2001 berlina black, coming from a miata.... the fastest car ive ever been in was probably my old integra with 160whp.... I honestly think i snapped my neck when i punched it at 6k in first gear.... Honestly i was terrified but impressed, not what i expected at all.

I was worried about the low end torque but damn it moves faster than my miata did in 4k+

Anyways im in love.... although when i let off the gas and cruise at speeds around 30mph+ i hear like this grinding rattling shaking noise like its coming from the differential or halfshaft. what could this be?

Not sure what your rattle is... maybe post up in the Under The Hood section and see if anyone has any ideas.

Otherwise, congrats on your purchase and welcome

Normal differential noise. Dont go thinking the S is a quiet car, there are tons of rattles in it...

yes lots of rattles... it could be that a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or two has not been completed. Have fun

You might check your spare tire to see if it has come loose - that can make some interesting sounds!!

While you're in there check the air pressure on the spare as well. I checked the air pressure in my spare a couple months ago while I was pulling out my xm unit and found the tire was nearly flat - 16 psi instead of 60!!

Enjoy you're new S!!

if it's coming from the rear i don't think it'd be clutch buzz. most likely it's the diff whine
