New S2K Owners
Hi,
I have just felt in love with this wonderful machine in the last 3 weeks!!!
3 weeks ago I took another road and saw a 2003 yellow S2000. Did a U-turn and went to see what it look likes.
The guy that was older than me and I am 52, asked me, you wanna try? Yeah why not!
At my surprise I fitted quite good with my 6'2". After I came back I had difficulty to hide my smile on my face!
I started to make some research on these cars to see how this community is loving their car and with this site, I had all the info I needed to find a good one.
So, a couple days later I made an offer to the owner but he declined it.
But in the mean time, I continue to look for another one and found one at 6 hours of driving from home!
This time, the offer was accepted and I drove there with my 2 sons and the son girlfriend and came back 2 days later with this fantastic car!!!
I made around 3000 km in my vacations with it with always a smile!
I just want to thank all of you to keep this site alive with all the good tips and info that we can have here!
I have never had the chance to have a real sports car because of different reasons like 4 children with 2 different wife a business that I worked alot...I pass my passion for driving in all kind of simulator like iRacing, Assetto Corsa, R-Factor, GP Legends, Nascar 2003, etc and pushing all the cars that I owned to their limits!
But now I feel that Ineed to settle down and learned to drive this car.
I began to buy some better tires and Mags wheels that have the stock dimensions because the ones that were on the car were not the right size. I will have it next friday the 7th.
Now I am a little bit confused on if I put an air intake or just a K&N filter or put another OEM filter.
Anyway If you have suggestion to help performance (low rpm)
Thank you
Alain

Welcome to the forum and the New-To-Me S2000 group!
The K&N FIPK is a dirt simple install. Not sure if there's measurable horsepower in it but the intake sound is worth the expense regardless! I installed mine the first week I had the car. It's up off the road so there are no water ingestion potential.
If you've not bought the tires yet I recommend "extreme performance summer tires" like the Bridgestone RE-71R for best handling. Stock wheel size works best from what I see unless you're modifying the fenders and what I put on my car last summer. It came with black (yuck) aftermarket wheels.
BTW, it's obligatory to post photos!

Thanks guys for all your kind words!
I've got my new wheels and tires but, it is rubbing in the fender in the back!!! Tires are like oem= 215/45ZR17 and 245/40ZR17
They sold me wheels that were suppose to fit perfect on the car...
They sold me 17'' with 45mm offset on all 4 wheels. 7.5'' and 8.5''
I made a couple of research to learn that it suppose to be 55 in front and 65 in the back!
These guys, pfff, can never be trusted
Anyway, I am looking on the web to find those kinds of wheels but didn't find anything yet that is affordable
If you have suggestion go for it, I would prefer not to roll the fender...
Oh I put a picture in my profiles but don't seems to show???
Have a nice week

S2k spec wheels aren't cheap.. Enkei RPF1 I'd consider budget but still aren't perfect.. Depends on what you're looking for. Better to go ahead and pony up some extra cash for wheels that fit the car correctly and don't weigh a ton among other things. There's a sub section of the forum devoted to nothing but fitment definitely check it out it should be helpful! Nothing wrong with a good roll/pull either if it comes down to it. Better than destroying your fenders ect rubbing when you hit a nice unexpected bump.
