New to S2KI
Hey everybody! The name is Bachir, and I'm from Northern New Jersey. I am 22 years old and very proud to say that I am the 4th owner of a beautiful 2001 Spa Yellow s2000. Here is the history of the purchase of the vehicle. I'm going to warn everyone, this is going to be a long introduction.
History:
Back in the year of 2010, I was looking into purchasing my first car. I was 20 years old at the time. I was checking out a Del Sol, but that didn't work out. I was planning to get a Honda Fit, but a girl I was talking to, at the time, said I should look into an s2000. I had my doubts as this could possibly be more expensive than a Fit. I figured why not, so I started looking through craigslist. I spotted a silver s2000 around my area, but was sold when I got into contact with the seller. So, I started looking all over New Jersey, and found the spa yellow s2000. There were a few issues with this. The first problem, was that the car was located in Southern New Jersey, but the girl offered to drive me down there to check it out. The other problem was that the seller had it on craigslist for 12k. At the time, I was a full time student at Lincoln Tech, and was a bit tight on cash. I offered him 8k, and he said he will take 9k for the vehicle. I got excited, and told him I'd be down there to check the car out during the weekend.
On the first day of May 2010, which fell on a Saturday at that time, I checked the car out, and man was I in love! The whole car in general was amazing, with a few blemishes here and there, but that's any used car. It desperately needed a wash and a vacuum. I purchased the car with 80,710 on the odometer. Also, it has an alarm with upgraded speakers and tweeters, along with an auxiliary wire going from the back of the factory radio. I have owned it for a year and 5 months, and counting! It has almost hit 93k, but is being used as a weekend car now, since I have purchased a 1990 Honda Prelude SI on November of 2010. Both cars are still going strong to this day!
What I have done to the baby myself:
-> Serpentine Belt and tensioner
-> Upgraded 2.9 axles
-> Transmission and rear differential fluid
-> Brakes and pads all around
-> Battery
-> Soft top latches and locking mechanisms
-> Oil (obviously every 2k-3k miles lol)
-> Cheap tires for now
-> Whole tune-up
-> Hard-wired detector
There is still a few more things I have to do to make her look like new. The soft top seriously needs to be replaced due to the massive tears on the roof, but I am planning on doing the glass window conversion sometime next year, as I usually drive the car only on nice days with the top down anyway. Eventually I will get better tires than what I have on her, right now. When I have more money, is when the fun stuff comes into play.
Old pictures but the baby hasn't changed that much.. Sorry if the pictures are small, folks!

Last but not least, the daily driver! JDM B20a swap soon? I think so!

EDIT: I wasn't sure if the pictures uploaded at all, but hopefully they work this time.
