Default Newbie!

Hi there everyone!

Trying to get my hands on an AP2 as a weekend warrior car and stumbled on this website - thanks for all the useful posts!

Found one with a tiny rip in the soft top (about 1cm long in a crease section near the bar on the passenger side) which the owner didn't even realize. I'm trying to talk down the price but he wants to repair it which I am very leery on after reading some of the posts here.

Not trying to lowball the guy but would like some advice from the fine folks here as to how much really can I make him understand. He's a cool dude and I think I can use logic to make him understand my concerns.

Will hopefully be adding to this information pile instead of just mooching.

Welcome to the forums! I doubt you will find any responses here that are going to help you significantly. If the tear is very minor then logically there will be a minor drop in price. Tears in these cars are very common and this doesn't justify a new top or a huge price reduction. If the vehicle is really clean just pay what you think its worth for you. These cars are becoming a bit more expensive and it is not reflected in kelly or NADA. Good luck, let us know what your decision is.
