Post Newbie needing help!

Hello all, I came from 8thcivic.com looking for information. I will jsut copy and paste what I posted there.

Hello, I have come for some input/comments. I am growing more and more detached from my Si, and I want to get rid of it. The car is paid off and I have title in hand. I was going to pick up an S2000 from a stealership and browsing craigslist I saw a gentlemen in a pickle. He has an 06 ap2 with 49k miles with mugen hardtop megan coilovers and rpf1s. Everything else is stock. He has to sell the car for per new baby. My questions are what should i look for with these cars, hes original owner, is this a good trade? The only thing that comes to mind is stolen/seat theft but with the hardtop that gets cut in half. My si is an 09 with 15,500 miles hpf front lip fullexhaust and some little addons.

cliffs: should i trade my 09 fa5 with 15k miles and basic bolt ons for an 06 s2k with 49k miles mugen hardtop.

edit:included is OEM wheels/tires on his end.

should I jump on this deal? What should i look for when I test the car? any little tricks i should know. This is my 3rd private party sale so im not an old hand but not prone to getting duped, i just don't know much about these cars and I was hoping a community would be able to point me right.

I would make sure to have a mechanic look over the S & also take a thorough test drive. As far as the 2 cars, there is absolutely no comparison between the S & Si. Once you've driven the S, you won't want to drive the Si any more. I personally will never go back to a FWD again. Good luck with your decision!

They look to be about the same value on kbb. I currently have an 07 Si coupe and an 04' S. I don't even drive my Si anymore. As long as the S is in good condition, it sounds like a good deal. As long as you are ok with less storage space.

I'd do it if you can live with the S2K being your daily. Other wise it's a pretty decent trade.
