Hi. newbie here. I'm about to buy a "demo" 06 S2000. I testdrove it and noticed at 60 mile per hour and am in 6th gear, the RPM was at 4.5K . Just wanted to know if that was normal. Thanks in advance

 

i think 4.5k is kinda high for 60mph for 6th gear. in my '01 im at 4.5k at 80+ mph.

 

4500 rpm is way too high for 60mph in 6th gear. I think you may be mistaken.

I'm pretty sure I was in 6th gears cause after that, I went thru all the gears (with the cluth depresseed and my foot off the gas paddle of course). I also tried to go from 4th to 6th to elimate the chance of me going from 5th to 4th by mistake. I will test drive a diff car today.

 

don't skip gears while upshifting.. thats a big nono with the S2K tranny. downshift skipping is fine though. good luck in your search.

 

I'm around 5000 at 80 with 4.77 gearset. That sounds a little fishy.

 

sounds too high...i think im around 75-80 at that rpm
