not sure about the s2
hi all, i'm thinking about getting an s2, but also considering a 350z, mainly because my friends dad is a manager at a nissan dealership.
but it's still up to the test drive, and i think most likely it'll come down to the s2.
so i'm hoping this forum will further help my decision!

I did heavy research on both cars. comes down to this... The 350Z...Nice car, cheapish interior, engine is ok, but its french. Car was designed in America(dont know if that is a bad thing or not). has a modern suspension, but it will not handle as well as an s2k. its kinda heavy.
and now for the s2k...S2k=bad ass. Dude just look at the motor AP1 or AP2. Superior engineering, dude 240 Hp with a N/A 4 cylinder...that bad ass. Idk people have different values for what they want in a car but in terms of practicality...they are the same, and IMO the S2000 is the better choice.

Both are fun as hell to drive. The Z has a very mechanical feel to it, while the s2000 feels as more an extension of you with everything being so precise. It all comes down to your personal preference.
yeah i've test drove both. i'm pretty sure the s2k was an 04, and the z was an 07.
you pretty much hit the nail on the head by saying the z has a mechanical feel to it, and that's what i didn't really like about it. plus it didn't feel all that fast.
the s2k felt a lot better, and driving with the top down was a blast
what do you mean by tire feathering?

Some might think this discussion doesn't have much to do with the real world of getting a car and using it. Maybe that's true. But there is something more here.
Just slowly walk around an S without anything else around it, no distractions, drink in the classic long hood, the beautifully flared front fenders, the serious but not unduly angular nose. Notice the time tested open car look and the way the top compliments the lines when it is up, like the revered Jaguar XKE.
We don't drive our S's because they are cute. We drive them because we are members of the human race and the human race is full of passion.
Commuting and driving to the store are important and necessary to sustain us, but driving the S, with its sleekness, the highest technology, and and an open car with 240 hp, this is what we stay alive for.
