Brian has an early Ap1, so an eibach bar may not be enough for him. The '00 Ap1 front bar is 393lbs/in, the eibach bar is 368 in position 1 and 416 in p2, so it may not make much of a difference.

At the risk of appearing to be a Tanabe Medalion Touring shill...

My term for this exhaust is Mature Performance. Growls aggressively in VTEC but just a subtle hint of performance sound in normal driving and at idle. Car guys will notice. Your wife or girl friend (may they never meet) will easily tolerate it. The exhaust is rated at "under 94dBA" so the ricer Civics and the Q300 will drown it out! Call the Tanabe "sound" and the Invidia "noise."

Try to hear any potential exhaust from inside the car before you buy or modify. Youtube videos are useless due to sound clipping. This would have saved two of us the trouble of fitting/removing the Q300 and replacing it with the Medalion Touring. At least we can change a multi-part exhaust in just a few minutes now. I did the Q300 removal/Medalion Touring swap by myself with no assistance other than one of my dogs investigating. Getting the OEM exhaust off is still tough if it's rusted.

Note weI are running Berk high flow cats between the manifold and exhaust and this will influence the sound. My '06 with this exhaust system, K&N intake, and Gernby tune dynos at 221bhp on a conservative Mustang dyno.

I actually never knew that. Forgive me if this sounds ignorant but isn't the front sway bar located in the engine bay across the front suspensions? I don't recall seeing a stock sway bar there. And if I was to get a sway bar, what would be the better option as opposed to the Eibach one that S1 S2 was recommending?

Wow that is a great deal of information Chuck. I definitely do agree that perhaps the Q300 would sound a little immature (from the youtube videos that I have watched). It is rated as a louder system but it actually may be what I want. With that being said, I will definitely try to find s2k owners and listen to their aftermarket exhaust before taking the leap myself for this purchase.

One of the reasons why I am leaning towards the Q300 is because I believe that it is more easily purchased in Canada. I would buy parts from the States and have it shipped up but the exchange rate right now is ridiculous and everything will cost atleast 25% more than the listing price (USD to CAD). Current exchange rate is 1 CAD to .74 USD. Which means that the cost of a Tanabe on Evasive (listed at $799 USD) will cost $1067 CAD plus customs fee. Whereas the Q300 is more commonly sold here in Canada and a slightly used set (less than 1000 km) can be sold for around $600-700 (from what I have seen listed).

I will try to look around for distributors for the Tanabe to see how the cost compares to the Q300. I think what appeals to me about the Q300 is that many reviews has noted that it is great "bang for the buck".

Thanks for all the info Chuck and it will definitely influence me when I make the purchase.

Haha, no, that would be a shock tower bar. We don't have one on our cars and because of the design of our cars, having one doesn't make a difference (although some will argue that it does).

I think the Moddiction Sway bar is a good option, especially this weekend b/c of the black friday sale! If you don't mind paying more, a Karcepts bar is also an excellent choice; but it's money! Read here for a review of it; it looks like a quality piece!

If you are interested, here's a read on Springs and Swaybars.

Also, I have a Greddy SE, you can have a listen to it if you want. One of the other local members recently bought a Q300 as well (used). I haven't listened to it lately, but I heard one on the street before and personally, I didn't like the tone of it that much.

Thanks for the recommendation Alex. (and also clearing up my misconception of what a sway bar is). Pardon my ignorance lol. I did take a look at the Moddiction sway bar and glanced over the Karcept one as well. I didn't make a purchase due to the fact that I will be driving my car less and less during the winter and plan on putting in new parts starting in the spring.

In your opinion, is the Moddiction one a good value or worth the purchase? The main thing I want to get out of my car is a fun drive on the odd day that I actually get to go out and about. I don't need the best of the best for a premium price because I never plan on tracking my car and the hardest I'm gonna drive it is maybe on a Whistler run or road trip.

I did try to read through that guide but for someone who is not mechanically inclined at all, it was like a foreign language to me. I definitely would like to hear yours and other member's exhaust. Maybe there will be a casual meet soon in Vancouver and I get to meet a bunch of you guys from the forum.

Congrats on the low mileage 2000! It looks like you have the OEM accessory titanium shift knob.

I think the Moddiction bar is at an excellent price. My friend paid almost as much for his Eibach bar that he purchased in the summer.

We have impromptu meets all the time. I just met up with cheddaboy and Seeker1 yesterday afternoon. We communicate mostly through whatsapp though.

The Tanabe is $120 more expensive than the Invidia. Because I never heard the Q300 before I installed it I took a $180 loss when I got rid of it (sold it quickly for $500). So my experience cost me an extra $300 than if I'd avoided the Q300 altogether. Yeah it was THAT bad (for me).

I can hear my OEM radio now that the Q300 is off and the Medalion Touring is on the car. And some of the K&N intake.

The best thing about the Q300 exhaust is how easy the 4-piece construction comes off to replace with the Tanabe Medalion Touring. I did it all by myself in less than an hour. It was a two person job to take the OEM system off. Use lots of PB Blaster and detach the mufflers first. If you detach the front end first the mufflers will hang up on the back of the car.

There's a Mighty Car Mods episode on putting the Q300 on a S2000. Medalion Touring goes on the same way.
