Default Perfect S2K? Input on buying

So I found an s2k with 23k miles on it and its an '02. This woman is the 3rd owner and she bought it from a Honda dealer and she is older and cannot get into the low car anymore. Car is immaculate, like absolutely gorgeous for the year. KBB is about $20k for my area and she is asking $17,500. Test drove the car and its perfect, bone stock and everything looks great (oil looks brand new, tires, roof etc). I offered 16k cash as she has had it up for sale for several months and the price has come down slightly. She won't budge as far as she told me. Right now I am thinking the most I'd ever pay is $17k for the car and I think thats pretty reasonable to go down to on her end, especially since I've seen the price come down over the past couple weeks.

I would love some input as far as the price and if I should jump on this. Also anything else I should check on the car to see how legit it is? Apparently previous owners were elderly as well so its been a weekend car. Any input is awesome.

Dont think the original air box comes with it. Is that a huge problem? I figured the intake on it looked to be pretty well maintained. I am not super knowledgable on s2000's yet, I do know that for my TDI, AM intakes are bad on the turbo.

Im 20 and in college and now that you mention your age you may not want to get it if you are anything like me. I can not stop buying stuff for it (radio, wheels, turbo parts) even when I need to save money.

Thanks for your input. You have a good point, thats for sure. It'll be my daily until I move to Seattle and get something else, and I don't plan on adding anything severe (for my wallet) until after I get another vehicle.

How long have you had yours?

Okay it sounds like this is a pretty good price for the condition of this car, glad you guys think its good. I think I'm going to give her a call back and buy it for her price.

Yeah I found one for $100 on CL. Probably would get a aftermarket legit "cold air" instead. It does sound nice with this one on, vtec sounded so damn strong...brb gotta change my pants after thinking about it
