picked up a great 02 yesterday!

the 3rd one i looked at, sebring silver 02 with 28k miles. 1 prev owner, a guy in his 60's that traded it in on a corvette. things emmaculate and i got it for 20,000 out the door and got alot on my trade in.
great dealership experience by the way, if anyones in the market for a GM, Lotus, or Hummer i highly reccomend criswell chevorlet in gaithersburg MD
but anyways i'm 22 and live in fredericksburg VA and have 2 friends with s2ks, one a silver ap1 and a silver ap2
looking to put an apexi world sport and some 17 inch wedsport sa-90's and maybe coilovers
wondering how weak the diffs really are? i'm the calmest 22 year old driver in the world but this is my first rear wheel drive car and my first fast car (i'm coming from a 2001 VW GTI VR6) so i'm def trying to have a little fun with it and drag race it a few times when my local tracks open up.
thanks everyone, any suggestions on where to find out about my differential question?
and is there an advanced search option on this forum? where you can choose your keyword being in the topic title or body and only search paticular forums?

congrats on your purchase, personally i wouldn't worry about the diff, alot of people say and what i've experienced is drop the clutch about 6500 rpm and you'll be fine, when you lay down some good rubber, the shock is not as harsh as you would bogging he car after dropping the clutch.

yea i was finally able to find a great thread all about launching and the diffs last night so i'm not nearly as worried now. i'm just prob gonna change the diff fluid earlier and use synthetic. thanks alot everyone
Congrats on your new car. You're gonna love it, although you'll probably find it better suited for autoX or a road course rather than a drag strip. The car wasn't built for straightline performance, but get it on some twisties and you'll get wood.
A word of caution though; give yourself a pretty lengthy introduction to car's performance and handling characteristics. It'll definitely feel different than your old GTI.
Enjoy and welcome!
