Picking up my s2k tomorrow
'Allo mates,
I'm a bit new here so I just wanted to drop a line before I troll the forums!
My name is Brian and I'm absolutely drooling over the fact that I am less than 24hrs away from owning an s2k. I live on the Monterey Peninsula and the climate/roads here are PERFECT.
Waiting on a cashier's check to clear at the bank then picking up a 2002 Silverstone only 39k miles old.
I was actually looking for a mazda rx8 and found one for sale within my budget and would've bought it if there weren't any setbacks. (climate control replacement/he's making payments a.k.a. no title in hand)
While I was waiting for the climate control to be replaced on the 8, I decided to test drive a local s2k posted on craigslist while I waited for the rx8 situation to work itself out and absolutely loved the sound/feel of the s2k. But I told myself it was too impractical.
BUT Ever since the test drive, I kept thinking more and more about the s2k ("if i wanted practical i'd get a god damned toyota truck").
So the decision was between:
$11,200 for the black '04 rx8
53,000 miles
3rd/current owner tinkered with the bose/electronics quite a bit.
vs
$13,500 for the silver '02 s2000
39,000 miles
driven by a VP of a Community college
3rd/current owner put only 9k miles on in the last 3 yrs.
for the extra $2,300 i hope I made the right choice

That sounds awesome, you'll love your car. You DEFINITELY made the right choice...on the fun factor the S2000 runs circles around an RX-8. You got a pretty good deal too...especially for the mileage that car has. My S2000 was a 2002, and that was a great year
