Default Potential Owner Need Advice!

Hi guys been saving up for a s2 for some time and have always wanted one and now I have the means.

The advice I need are 2 s2000's I am interested in.

First is a:
2001 AP1 Silver 2 owner car 100% stock with 29000 miles going at $16500 firm. Looks like it is in great condition adult owned.

Second is a:
2007 AP2 white 5 owner car with 54000 miles, has CR lip and tein coil overs - which exact ones I'm not sure. Priced at $18000. Car looks like it's in great condition too but owner in 20's - not to say that is a bad thing.

I will not be tracking the car but a weekend car.

Which one would you guys go for? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Welcome, both sound like pretty good deals. Have you driven both the AP1 and AP2? The 2007 model you're looking at has drive by wire (no cable throttle), traction control and of course a 2.2L instead.

That AP1 is essentially unchanged from the 2000 model so it is as raw as it gets. It has pretty low mileage so it definitely has that collector's image, especially if it's mint.

Check to see if either car has accident history as well.

I test driven both but not long enough to notice the differences.

Ran checks on both, both accident free. AP1 owner has had it last 10 years while AP2 last 12 months.

How vital is traction control? I won't be driving in the rain but i do like to put my foot down.

Thanks Adrenalize.

It's not vital, more so for peace of mind. You can turn it off if you want as well. In the dry you really have to be pushing it to get it to engage.

Nice to know that you have to really push to engage it.

Which one would you get and why?

Thanks

Well I'm a little biased to GPW And correct me if I'm wrong but the 07 should have the red and black interior? The only thing that scares me is the number of owners but it's not too bad. I've seen more. Good shape and maintenance are what count.

I'd get the newer car. Both have low miles considering. The white with red/black is an awesome combo.

Based on you saying that you don't plan on tracking the car, and just want to weekend drive it, I would say go with the 07. Slightly more comfortable and refined. VSA is also a nice backup to have to cover your @$$ if you push it a little too hard. Which you will most likely do at some point. And GPW is a good color!
