Price for leftover 2005?
Hi,
My wife recently had her 1997 Acura Integra stolen. It was found a day later minus the engine and transmission so it's been totalled by the insurance company. It was a great car and we're sad to see it go.
Tomorrow we're planning to test drive and possibly make an offer on a new 2005 S2000.
I've done a bit of searching on this forum for prices but it looks like most of the price discussions transform into talk about used prices and/or financing options. I don't have much time left to read through gajillions of postings.
We're thinking of offering $28.5K + TTL. Does that sound reasonable for a 2005?
Any advice on price negotiation would be greatly appreciated.
We hope to be S2000 owners soon.
Thanks,
Heinz

28350 was the lowest I've ever quoted with 05s. I was quoted that price back in early December. According to Edmunds.com, Honda's 'marketing support' hasn't increased since then, so I guess that's pretty much it. Maybe you can try low-ball it at 27500, the worst you'll get is a 'NO'.
Good luck.
PS. I decided to get the 06 for the new Laguana Blue. Call me stupid to pass on that 05 deal.

With the end of the Mo. coming up, you will be in a better position as the dealer will want to make an end of month sale.
DO NOT show a LOT of enthusam, If the salesman refuses your offer, walk away, and the next day call the sales Mgr. direct and make him an offer.
Check autotrader, depending on your location, there may be some in "out laying " areas.
Good luck

This past Saturday I just picked up an 05 GPW/Tan for 29.7 OTD, best deal I could find in the area (and the only GPW/tan

I bought mine in early January for 29.6k, best deal I could find in the area. The only other close dealer wanted 31.5k and wasn't budging. I also called a dealer in Memphis (2 hrs from me) and they wanted around 31k and didn't seem like they wanted to deal either. I guess it all depends on where you live. It may or may not have helped that I wanted GPW/Tan, so and 06' was out of the question.

was that with TTT ? where are you at ? and what is your sales tax ?
I had emailed and received a quote at invoice online, which was too much still. They said they could do better if I came in on Saturday. I had a friend call interested in the s2 to see what kind of price he could get. We then pretended to get a competing quote from another dealer that had a GPW 05 on their website (but actually sold last week). So we counter-offered a few times til it was 29.7k OTD. Either way, the two salesmen were pretty pissed when we walked in together and realized what happened.
