Default Prospective MS3 to S2K switch

I currently own a 2012 MazdaSpeed 3. I have done some modifications to the car, currently sitting at 300whp and 340 ftlb of torque. Running 50/50 E85 mix. I love this car, but i just found out my uncle is selling his 2003 Suzuka Blue S2000. This thing is spotless and has under 2000 miles on it. I'm just basically creeping around here to get a better feel for the car and its pros and cons. I'm 23 years old and a 2 seater is not a con at this point in my life. I do live in the Chicago suburbs so the winter is not a fun time for a lightweight RWD car.

Any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I would post pics of my car but i have no appearance mods, so it wouldn't be too interesting.

thanks,

Vinnie

Winters are possible with the S2K but not the best. I do miss my 375 HP Wrx sti at the moment because of the winter situation...but still glad I got rid of it for my S2K---just wish it was nice here year round so I could enjoy it.

I'd read through this. Assuming you know the general aspects and specs on the car, there are things in there you can keep in mind if thinking about the switch.

Your post is kind if general though. You may want to include why you would want to switch... 2012 is fairly new, any reason you wanna skip out on the Mazda? I used to have a 3 and I loved it. You can't beat the amount of room in that thing, and the torque haha it is a completely different beast.

the S2000 will be A LOT slower, A LOT... but, the "drive" will be better where everything will have a "better feel" to it. you should drive your uncle's before you make the decision. the main trade offs would be the driver feel vs sheer power, but that could be "easily fixed" with a supercharger/turbo. lol

Yeah, i definitely need to drive it first! I have always love the styling of the s2k and i do like the gearbox. i haven't had the chance to drive one hard yet, but i would love to. I do think if i got one i would wanna charge it i'm not sure TC or SC. i'll keep everyone posted.

thanks for the responses.

The s2000 will definitely feel like it is powerless compared to a tuned turbo car. S2000 is a lot more fun in every way except for straight acceleration which is its weakest point.
