Default Proud Owner of a 05 GPW

But the Happiest day by far.

I got a 05 GPW with 35,000 miles on the odometer, drove a total of 500 miles today.

What kind of maintenance should i do before i drive it? 30000 service? valve adjustment? I was going to do a compression test, but something wrong happen ended up with the car though.

Ill get membership soon, have to wake up in 3 hours to go to work.

With 35k, all you should probably do is get the car on your maint. schedule. Change the motor oil and filter, diff oil, trans oil, and bleed the brake and clutch fluid. Check/change the cabin air filter, engine air filter, and brakes. I'd assume the car is in pretty good shape.

1500 miles in 24 hours is over 60MPH average for 24 hrs straight. I think there's some exageratin' goin on (no biggie).

500 miles in one day is still very impressive - I haven't done that since college.

Congrats on the new s2k!

(mine is an '01 with 112K miles - still drives and looks like new [with some TLC and a few things replaced along the way]!)

every year i got to kansas/nebraska and it takes 22 hours for the 1350 trip from NY. straight through, 2 drivers.... walk in the park, so 1500 is totally possible.
