Post Purchasing my AP2 S2K this weekend!

I grew up at Kalamzoo Speedway, fastest 3/8 mile oval in the U.S. I've been into cars since I was like 2. I know every make, model, tons of specs, etc. I finally made up my mind, this will be the first car I've ever really put time into. I'm shooting for about 300hp and want to keep it a little classy looking, not too pretty, just enough to be border line sleeper... I look forward to getting to know everyone here, joining my local club, and enjoying the Hell out of this amazingly well built machine.

Welcome Charles I'm sure you will love your new s2k as I've grown to love mine very quickly! It's one of the only car's I've driven that for under 30K you get a purpose built racing machine with Japanese reliability. Be sure to post up some pics when you get it!

Welcome!!

You can easily get to 300whp or much more with turbo or SC. Unfortunately, that's about the only way for under $20k.

Thanks for the welcomes Everyone! Yeah, I know that a Turbo would be my pick if I had an extra $5k layin around. I love Greddy, etc. For now I will do a few little "tricks" I've studied up on and focus on handling and appearance. Looking into a CWest Body Kit and maybe find some pre-owned Rays/Volk Wheels, We'll see. I'll have her here this weekend and I'll get pics up ASAP.. Enjoy your 4th of July!!!!! "BOOM"

Nice i too was shooting for 300whp when i first got it but there is no way inless u go the turbo or supercharger route with this car. Which kind of sucks to me but this is the funnest car i have owned. And i have owned a cobra and evo before this. I just don't want to drop $5k or more into this car to get 300whp or a little more for me. So im enjoying it stock i might just pick up a evo in a year or two to work on i had my VIII up to 330awhp for around $2-3k. Enjoy her and keep her safe

Well, if I know anything about a car being fun to drive... It's not always raw horsepower that does it. The fastest N/A lap time on Tsukuba, , was an S2k. Not that I'm going to replicate this of coarse, but, Downforce, great brakes, traction, a broad powerband, lighten her up a bit... I'm sure I'll enjoy the crowded streets of Austin, TX and anyone familiar with Austin, I live out 2222. Google map the road, its like a racetrack through the hill country out to the lake. My drive home will never be the same... Pics coming soon.
