Questions about Service Manual
so there's one for my 2003 (00 - 03) for $70, and there's the newer ones...like the 00 - 06 for $75. anyone have both or can comment on the differences between the years? will the newer ones have updated info on older years, or is the new stuff just appended in? was any stuff taken out since the description says that there's roughly the same amount of pages in all editions? $5 ain't much; i'd just rather get the one best for my MY.
Please don't post links to illegal copies of service manuals. They are out there and if you use Google you can probably find them so please don't post them here. Thanks much. I'd hate to have all kinds of legal problems because someone is too cheap to spend $70 on a service manual for a $30,000 car

yes. it will.
to begin with, engine size changed from 2.0l to 2.2l. therefore ecu has changed. console has changed and for '06, it's drive by wire. big difference when you jump from 03 to 04.

for the newer manuals...
1) will the '03 info in specific have been updated (maybe they found out some stuff)?
2) will any of the '03 info, however small, have been taken out since they added all that new info for '04+?
is there anyone that has seen both manuals? care to comment? thanks
My MY02 shop manual (Honda dealer) has information about prior year models called out. Of course, there were only three model years to look at at that time.
I haven't seen the MY03+ manuals. Damn good question though as to whether they cover all the older manuals. Does anyone know?
benighted, it's simply best to just get the manual for your year. If you go to Honda, you're likely to be able to buy the right year on the spot (they usually stock these things). If you order the Helms, I'm not sure.

Oh, I just checked the helms site (see the earlier post), and the manual covers 2000 - 2005. You should be all set.

chaz, thanks for the reply...let me try and clarify though what i meant by my question...
i had also checked their website and saw that the newer ones cover all of the older models. i was wondering if any of the info on the older years had been updated -- either appended to or removed -- in the newer editions. for example...both descriptions (for 00-03 and 00-06) say the manual is roughly 1500 pages. now, there are at least 2 instances of MY changes in the newer ones (04 and 06). if they are the same lengths, does this mean stuff was taken out?
there probably isn't enough of a different to say one manual is better than the other, but if anyone knows i'd also like to know.

although I haven't seen the latest manual, my 02 manual is just like nibble's 03... It covers the previous years too and I'm sure they don't drop anything out, benighted.
