I don't agree with Red that "most of the time" is accurate. Many engines consume can consume a quart in 1000 miles. Possibly more. It's not a problem, per-se, it just needs to be watched.
Please, as a new owner, keep your eye on your dipstick at every fill-up. Keep a quart in your trunk, and add a little at a time if your oil drops down a couple of Xs on the dipstick.
