Default S2000 Radio

Hey everyone.

I recently purchased a used 02 S2000. First, I want to say that I love this car.

My last car was a WRX, which was a completely different animal.

My question is:

The dealer disconnected the battery and the radio is asking for a code. Is the code a universal number or is it specific to the car, like a fingerprint? Do I have to go to the dealer to get the code?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers.

With my car documents there was a credit card sized piece of paper with the radio code on it...

did your car come with all paperwork? if so, it should be there.

If not, wait for other replies

Thanks.

No. I did not have that with the card. I wish.

Thanks for the quick response!

Not sure.

I would imagine that it was sitting on the lot and some boob left something on and drained the battery. I don't know. Just a guess.

It was on a used lot. Would a Honda dealer be able to get the code or reset it?

Just goto the dealer w/ your registration and they will give it to you. Took me about 3 mins to do and they didnt even ask for my proof of ownership

Did you check inside your owner's manual, many dealers put it in it.

Try this trick...So glad theives can't read!!

Turn off the radio.

Hold Down #1 and #6.

Turn on the Radio.

It will display the serial # 4 digits at a time.

I believe it flashes the code twice.

the #1 and #6 trick didn't work for me... but I found a sticker on the roof of the secret compartment with my radio code on it try that, might save you a trip to the dealer.
