The S2000 is fairly easy to drive up to 8-9/10th but from 9/10th to "oh-$hit" there is no room for error (and very little warning).

Truth be told people screw up cars like EVO or STi just as often and they're supposed to be dummy-proof.

to be completely honest

i bought my s2000 this past july (i'm 19) and it's actually the first automobile i've ever driven in my life

yaaa saddddd! getting my license when i'm 19... never drove an auto or anything else before

i stalled my car like a shitload of times the first few days in a parking lot but anyways, i'm still alive as of today

basically what i'm saying is, the car is very friendly as long as you...

1) don't stomp on the gas fully when you're in the middle of a turn, wait till your fully done the turn

2) if the top is down, don't wander your eyes around looking at the beautiful weather outside/other people checking you and your car out and etc.

3) apparently pedestrians don't like it when i'm driving while sucking on a lollipop

anyways

if a previously 0-experience driver could handle the car, you'll be fine

i did score 1407 on my sats though... so just use some common sense while driving!

The S is a moderatly easy and FUN car to drive. RWD is a different dynamic from FWD though especially in cold icy conditions. As you drive the S or any RWD car more in different conditions you can appreciate it a lot more.

[QUOTE=Ks320,Dec 20 2005, 12:40 PM]A potentially stupid question and may get flamed badly -- but i'm still going to ask: Is the S2000 really THAT hard to drive?

No pun intended, and I'm really curious about this.

Never "stomp" on the gas. Squeeze the controls. Smooth is faster and safer.

This car can be scary to drive in bad conditions. With the stock tires at below freezing the tires will break loose with very little provocation. When the roads are wet you better be pretty cautious too. These tires are made for great handling on warm dry pavement, anything less and things can get dicey. And don't bother flaming, you can either believe that everyone that crashed an S is an ass who can't drive and the posters here are perfect, or you can acknowledge that the car can be a (fun) handful.

No.

It is unforgiving.
If you drive like an idiot in the S2000 the whole world will know you are an idiot.
It will not pull your ass out of the fire like a FWD or AWD or Mustang or Vette for that matter.
It is very well balanced and very responsive to both brilliant and moronic inputs.
As others have said, it is easy to drive easy and a challenge to drive well.
