Default S2000 reborn

Hey all,

Firstly, the fact there is still a thriving forum for our cars makes me so happy, miss forum life as most seem to have wilted and disappeared!

So I've listed over s2000s as most have for much of my petrolhead existence, and have badgered my uncle in-law who had his owned from new, early NFR (the colour id always wanted should I get one) tucked in his barn garage, to sell to me if he ever decided he would let go of it.

Fast forward to last year, due to some less than ideal circumstances and a sad change to his health, I was approached about taking the car on, and of course leaped at the opportunity.

So below are the photos of it untouched after trailering home, she looks a damned sight better now, but as an intro post this felt fitting.

Will get a members thread up as a tracking it's progress diary asap, but I'm absolutely thrilled to have the chance to give this very special car a second life on the road.

Josh

Congrats on finally get the car you have wanted for years. Cleaning it up will be part of the fun of getting it back in working order. As it has sat for 15 years you will need to literally go through everything fluid wise. Not that you don't already know that.
Engine oil and the correct Honda S2000 filter
Engine oil bolt crush washer
Honda coolant
Brake fluid
Clutch fluid
Transmission fluid and crush washers
Rear diff fluid and crush washers
Check your spark plugs
You might have some weeping oil at the valve cover gasket and o-rings in the spark plug area.
Engine air filter of course but don't forget about the cabin air filter.
Shifter removed and regreased with Honda Genuine 08798-9002 Urea Grease
S2000 Shifter Isolator Foam. Mine was crumbling away. ( https://www.lhtperformance.com/produ...ifter-isolator )
New wiper blades. Seems so obvious I got an old car many years ago tried the wipers before changing them and it immediately gouged the windshield as the old rubber crumbled away.
Tires, tires, tires! Don't drive on old rotted tires. Did that and was lucky to make it home without a blowout.
For the window and drop top seals invest in Honda Genuine 08798-9013 Silicone Grease
If you have rattling around the timing chain tensioner you will want to search for "Billmans TCT"
Can't think of anything else at the moment.

So have picked away at the majority of that list already I'm happy to say

Curious as to the mileage or kilometrage. Regardless, glad you're here. Congrats and welcome!

Surprisingly 100k, which to be honest makes me happy as it had a real full life of stories until being tucked away, so now it's time to revive it for life #2 and hopefully do it proud
