Default Salvage title!

I was considering looking at this my03 gpw, with a salvage history, the guy has photos before and after and does a bunch of s2k's. Looks like it got drifted into a pole!

Before and after..

You're just asking for handling problems there bud.
Also, the front fender in the before is either aftermarket or banged up. Can't really tell from this angle, but something doesn't look right.

Cool

Salvage titles are what they are. Sometimes the car can be repaired well. often times, not. If you want it, you need to have it inspected and also make sure it is put on an alignment rack to check both front and rear ends. The front fenders may have been replaced for another reason. Back looks good, but the damaged end is where the gas tank filler and vents are located.

Compare the price to similar S2000 which don't have a salvage title, then make your decision.

For the price and the fact it wasn't registered it wasnt worth the hassle. If it was the rear only i wouldn't be too concerned, but the front was tweaked a little also, if you follow the gap on the hood one side is about a quarter inch different. Frontal damage scares me so thats a no go. and the rear welds for the quarter panel were pretty ugly.
Guess ill keep looking!

I would stay away from a salvage title. That is just asking for trouble.

Takes a lot of damage to total an s2k. Figure it took over 20k of repairs? Unlikely they spent that much getting it running.

Smells like trouble.

What the hell?! It looks like the same exact car I checked out this past weekend.. Its because the one i checked out last weekend was the same as pictured, it had a single comtech exhuast, because one side was damaged. The driver side tail light is from an 00-01-02, becuase the passenger side tail light has the chrome ring and the driver side doesn't.

And if its the same car, it wasn't repaired very well. Has quite a lot of bondo. The paint match is horrible, body lines don't match up well, and the interior is dirty and wore out.
