Default sports car learning curve

hey all,

I'm a prospective S2k owner, and was wondering how long it takes to get comfortable with the oversteer characteristics of the car. To kind of clarify, I used to be into sportbikes -- when I first started riding I really didn't know where the limits were, so I just kind of tried to keep it pretty conservative. After about a year (with mostly canyon and some track time), I had a pretty good idea of where my limits and the bike's limits were, and could go approach those without going over them, or being unsafe. So, how long does it take to attain a semblance of the skill this guy has?:

Have you attended any track schools that have been extremely helpful? For those of you who have also ridden sportbikes, do you think those skills somewhat transfer to sports cars?

That is Gansan driving. That is talent as much as it is practice. You may try for your entire life and not acheive his capability. The fact that he is a professional driver who gets to practice everyday does not hurt either.

If you want to safely find out where the limits are of the s2k once you buy one, then start autoxing. That will help you recognize your limits.

I'd much rather lose control and hit a cone than lose control and hit a tree. Not saying you will but we see a lot of threads pop up about things like this.

I agree with negcamber and getfighted32. After scaring myself a couple of times on the street, i signed up for an autox. It is probabaly the cheapest/best way to safely learn the limits of the car.
