Still yellow, still FR
Hey gang,
My name is Cody. Cody Red happens to be my nickname, and what I like to go by. Or rather, prefer.
Anyways. I traded in my '04 yellow Mazda RX-8 last wednesday for an '04 yellow AP2!
here are pics of the 8.

I'm the 2007 BSP Champion (SCCA) in my region, and I look forward to running A class.
here are a few of the ap2.

that is not my house. nor is that me.
anywho. it took me a while to finally get around to make an introduction thread. I can't believe you gotta pay for s2kca, but i'm sure it's worth it. But with my budget I've got going for the s2k, it's gonna have to wait!
thanks for looking.

Thanks fellas
I sure do. That's why I mentioned I look forward to running A class
But as far as this car vs the rx-8:
I love the power. It would be a joke if I said there wasn't a difference in power. Not that this matters to me since I'm more of a track/autocross guy as opposed to the omfgwtfbbq drag strip (not a fan of drag racing at all, but to each his own). But yes! The power is def a plus. Now I can gain more speed in the straights at the local PCA.
The handling seems to be a bit soft in the front. Now, I understand the ap2 isn't fully 50/50 weight distributed, correct? It's like 49/51? Anywho, that plus having a staggered setup is also very different to me.
I'm concerned about what the offset is for the stock wheels, as I plan on running the same size wheel/tyre all around. This is probably going to be my first mod, other than the set of spark plugs I'm getting in the mail today, and the J's Racing fan switch (coming from a rotary, i'm more concerned with heat than I should be). I'm looking into 17x9 fn01rc's in either bronze or black.
I should also mention the mileage is a whole lot better than the rx-8. That's another big plus. I don't have much room as I used to, but it does feel baller to drive an S.

great choice! How do you like the S2000 vs your Rx-8? You plan on running in the SCCA with your s2k as well?
