Suggestions on mods
I have had my s2000 for just under a year, and I am now starting to mod it (cold air intake is going in this weekend). After that I guess exhaust will be the next thing to get upgraded (unless someone has a different/better idea). Any suggestions on exhausts? I have searched the forum, and haven't been able to single out any one exhaust system. I would like to keep it dual, and I am more concerned with performance versus sound. Also somewhere down the road I expect to get either a turbo kit or a super charger (can't afford those just yet) just in case that would influence your suggestion on exhaust. I am interested in any help or opinions you can give me. Thanks in advance.
I too have contemplated this, but after much research and using the "search" feature (Sorry) I have found that going with a dual setup in terms of performance has little gain.
I personally like the T1R 70R Sparrow Exhaust. It's a dual Ti Tip designed for FI S2's. I've heard it too from one of the member here. Sounds awesome. Currently I have a dual Invidia Ti tip'd setup w/ silencers. I decided to go with that cause of price and it's lighter than OEM.

It's my understanding after all the research I've done that the S2000 has an extremely well tuned exhaust from the factory. Unless you are going FI, or you care about how the car sounds, (and it doesn't sound like you are after either of the two), there is very, very little power to be found in a cat-back. Granted, weight can lead to performace, but in terms of freeing up exhaust velocity, your not going to find much. (maybe 5 -6hp) I base my mods on HP to $ ratio, and in this case it's just not worth it in my opinion. There are those who will argue, but to each his own.
Not the answer you were hoping for ?

I've also heard that you can safely run 8 psi or less on the stock set up.

you can run 7psi with Vortech Kit and 5.5psi on Comptech Kit. Both will make around 300whp. You can use them on stock setup but if you upgrade the pulley, you will need engine management.
From my experience, I will recommend gears (preferably 4.57-R) It will not give you any hp but your car will accelerate quicker. If you search you can find the video of the 4.57 S2000 vs a stock one and see the difference...
With keeping the car NA, you will not gain more than 20-25whp unless you spend $10K on the car.
Turbo is better than SC but costs a lot more since you have to get engine management and etc...
