Default Third Gen RX-7 (FD) Owner to S2000 DD

I just picked up an '06 with 4500 miles on it for $24.5k and I'm loving the car so far (daily driver), although it does feel underpowered relative to the FD (which is modded and has about 360 at the wheels). The S has decent trunk space, decent mileage if you stay off the VTEC, and good power and handling for what it is, plus I've grown to really like the looks and I didn't use to look twice at S2000s.

Congrats. You forgot to mention the biggest benefit of coming to an S2K from an FD - reliabilty!

Good choice. You're the 4th/5th person I know coming to an S2K from an FD. What's the reason?

thanks guys

just to clarify, I still have the FD (which I've owned for 10 years, most of the reliability issues have been addressed...third engine's a charm, haha) but I only drive it on weekends because it's such a gas hog and it loads up if you don't drive it like a bat out of hell (I run pre-mix oil)

btw I just changed the oil to Mobil 1 5w-30 and read on here that it's not recommended...hope I didn't screw up

Mobil 1 10W-30 seems to be the preferred choice of us S2Ker's

Ah, Another FD owner crossing over to the S2k's. I know its odd. I'm in the same vote as you. Lack of power, no spinning triangles of doom, but damnit, you can't beat the convertible! lol I had my FD at 340whp on twins and 12psi. You've got some good numbers
