Through 8 States & into Canada!
Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking for a little while but I took the plunge and I bought a slightly used 2007 Silverstone and drove it from Minneapolis to Vancouver (I took a little detour, hence the 8 states). 2600 miles in total to get it home! It's been about 8 years since I've driven manual, but the drive home was a hella lot of fun! On one particular day I encountered heavy wind, snow through the mountain pass, hail, heavy rain and for a short bit sunny weather!
Here are some pictures of my car & trip:

The manual didn't come with the car but I've learned so much from this S2ki.com in such a short period of time. As for oil, my understanding is that I need 10w30 but I have some Mobil 1 5w30 leftover from my previous car, for Pacific Northwest weather this is okay right? I know there's no conclusive info on whether this is good for fuel economy, engine life, etc... but any info would be great!

Thanks for the welcome guys!
snguyen, the rims are Sport Edition E1 from Jim at the tirerack.
Doug, the S was great in the snow, I have snows so of course that made all the difference! We saw a Miata with a hardtop abandoned on the side of the road covered in snow and a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was sideways. It had hit a barrier and the bumper was falling off.
s2kobsession, yeah, I did hit some bad weather, in one day I drove through a wind storm, snow, hail, heavy rain and sunny weather!!! Thanks for the compliments!

lol the seat view shots remind me of video game like gran turismo
I have a video from the mountain range where it snowed, when I was watching it I was thinking "Man, I'm driving pretty fast!" Not as fast as in GT though!

Nice car, nice landscapes and what looks to be one nice trip, EXCEPT for the bad wx. Congratulations on the purchase and welcome to the site.
in the Photo section of the site.I actually didn't mind the snow. It gives me a little more confidence knowing that the S is actually a capable vehicle when it does snow. The VSA only came on once too!
