Default Tomorrow's the big day

Good evening S2000 owners.
My names Brad and I own a 2000 Mazda Miata. I am in love with my miata, i've driven over 20k miles in less than 8 months, pure recreation. The only thing it's lacking is... power and respect. I've constantly been thinking about trading it in for a S2K just months after owning it and today I made the big move. I went to multiple dealerships and finally found a 2001 for a decent price. It's yellow and is completely stock minus a cold ram intake for 10,600. I'm waiting on an approval for a loan by my bank (only reason I didn't purchase it today) and will go to pick it up tomorrow morning after I get the check from the bank. I plan on learning a lot about these incredible cars here, as I was active on the Miata forums.

I'm going on a trip home to Florida from central Texas tomorrow after the purchase. This is a 2000 mile drive, so hopefully i'm not being sold garbage. Test drives and inspections looked great though. Just a few cosmetical deficiencies. The front lower lip of the bumper is a little scratched and the back window is almost completely impossible to see through because of how foggy it is. I'll probably have to purchase a new one soon.

Anyways, does anyone think i'm getting ripped off this deal? Should I turn back now? There's hardly any below 13K around me and I just don't have that kind of money.

I'll post on here tomorrow when I get it. If I don't come back tomorrow well.. I probably didn't get the car for some unforeseen reason :/ but everything is looking good right now!

How many miles on it?
NADA retail excellent condition on that car is probably around 12k if it's ~50k miles.
Sounds like it's a little below good condition. Any other defects? Dings/dents or rips/tears in the leather seats?

Maybe hit up the central TX forum to see if anyone would be willing to go take a look at it for any obvious signs of boost/flogging.

If everything checks out, $10,600 is probably a good buy IMO.

UD.

Good luck with the purchase. But just know, you're still going to get the "cute car" and "why didn't you get a real car" comments. Not trying to dissuade you at all. I love the car, and the community that I'm a part of because of it, but the same ignorant people who razz you about your Miata will razz you about the S2k.
