Default Typical problems?

hey guys, I'm picking up an AP2 soon and was wondering if there are any problems that are typical of the S2K that I should expect/look out for. Thanks for the feedback!

None that I can personally think of. Most of the errors that were made were corrected when they made the AP2. Just make sure everything is in line just like you would any used car

Good to hear, I trusted that they were pretty reliable, anyone else want to chime in?

i havent ran into any major problems. the only one i can think of was the key ignition sensor. it would still beep thinking my key was in the ignition when it wasnt but that stopped out of nowhere.

just read up on all the maintenance threads and you should be fine

All engines burn oil, and AP2s do as well, although oil consumption is much less in an AP2 than in an AP1.

"Major" issues I've seen in AP2s so far include top latches that rattle, but there is a 2003 TSB you can get for that, and a dash rattle that requires the dash to be pulled to fix. There's also an issue with the 1-2 shift being overly notchy or popping out of 2nd gear, but there's also a tsb for that. Both of these issues are rare and not really that major - the cars are really solid.

The rather upright windshield tends to be prone to more than the normal share of cracks and divots. Same with the paint on the front--the coating seems to be pretty light on the AP2s. You might want to invest in clear bra or something similar.

The rear tires wear quickly, so if you're buying used, make sure you check those--especially as we're still in the winter months.

Not a problem, but be sure you can locate the the secret compartment and also the gas door release knob...

Oh, and Go Ducks!!

Too bad they don't make a lightning (highlighter?) yellow s2k for us Ducks and all our 5,347 different colored uniform combinations...Spa and Rio just aren't quite fluorescent enough...

Sooner fans are great...never had a better time at an away game the one in Norman a few years ago.

Enjoy your S2K when you get it! NFR, I'm assuming...??? Could there be ANY other color for a Sooner?
