Wanting to get my first S2000...
I have owned nothing but Honda since I was able to drive. I even sold Honda's for a few months before I got my current job.
My first car was a 1991 Honda Accord EX. I bought it in 1993 and I ended up selling it in 2001 for 2000 bucks and it had 275,000 miles on it. Amazing car.
I immediately bought my current 2001 Accord EX Coupe which now has almost 80000 miles and is running just like new.
I talked my wife into trading in her Ford Excessive... uh, I mean.. Expedition and she now has a 2005 Honda Element EX. Another amazing car that we are very happy with.
Now, It's my turn again...
S2000. Since the first time I saw it, I fell in love. I knew I had to have one.
When I sold Honda's, the S2000 was in such high demand, that in the 3 months that I had worked there, we never got a single one on the lot, new or used... that was the summer of 2002.
When we were buying the Element this past summer, I slipped into the showroom and checked them out.... FINALLY!!! I got to sit in one.... Ouch.
I'm 6' 3" tall and 220 pounds.
I didn't get much of a chance to fiddle with the seats and see how much leg room I would have. I also didn't have time to lower the top and see if my head would fit. As much as I hate to say it, it felt REALLY tight.
Problem is, I want this car so bad that I might be willing to live in discomfort with it.
For all of you that own one, do you think it would be okay if I just had time to adjust the seats and be able to fit, or am I just too tall to own this car?
I have seen some complaints on websites about tall drivers not having any room, but it's like that with almost any sports car... especially a roadster. You have to sacrifice some level of comfort to get the speed and performance.
Any advice would be welcomed..
Also, is there a re-design of the S2000 in upcoming years where the interior might be a little more roomy?

It's really your call as to how much "discomfort" you're willing to put up with in order to enjoy owning this car. I'm 5'11" and slender and car fits me like a glove. I just love the "wrapped up" feeling I get when I'm behind the wheel.
In all honesty, you're too big for the car but that doesn't mean you can't fit in it and have a ball driving/owning one. And of course, top down, the head room is infinite.

There are always rumours.
