Default What should I look for?

I've sold two of my cars (see links). My 93 Miata goes to my brother and my 88 M5
to a gentleman in MN. I am going to use the proceeds of the sales to buy a used S2000. I need your advice on what areas to check when looking at a used S2000. Any year I should avoid? Problem areas? Areas prone to rust? Any advice is really appreciated.

Thanks,

I always advise to look into the 02+ years and to pay attention to the valves, diff and tranny before you make a purchase since they are areas of concern.

Dammitjim's link is the best. If you have extra time, try this one as well:

I would consider owner history to be the most important thing. The car has proven to be very reliable but if its been beat on and is on its 5th owner, you may want to steer clear.

new cars are all identical and all come with the same set of issues. USED cars on the other hand all come with their own unique set of problems and each one needs to be thoroughly inspected to make sure you buy the best possible car.

Dammitjim's breakdown is awesome, that should be you first starting point.
