Brand new to this forum and over from a 400whp Nissan 240sx!
Getting married April 8th this year and looking for a fun daily driver/weekend track car/take my girl to dinner in....

However, I do love modifying and would be interested in forced induction.
I apologize if I have not searched enough but I'm coming up on a decision quickly......

Side note:
My friends are all/mostly Nissan guys so for a new car it came down to the 350z. However, they all love the s2k and are pushing me in that direction. Furthermore, my fiance loves the car!!

I test drove a brand new 06 and it felt quite sluggish until I understood that power no longer occurs at 3k. Quite surprising when I discovered VTEC for the first time

The 2.2 makes me wonder if the 2.0 revs faster? Or if it needs a lightened flywheel (-torque)? It seems like it takes a long time to get into the VTEC range in 1st gear (didn't get to really ride out 2nd and 3rd). The 2.0 is also cheaper and the 01 year seems to be good according to Consumer Reports. I think a GT28rs would be sooooo sweet with 9k to work with, coming on about <3k.

Opinions please!!!!

They say the 2004 and up are more practical as a daily driver because of the TQ increase but whatever.

04 and up also have the glass rear window and more agressive tire wheel package.

If you are going to get rims anyways then that is of no concern anyways.

 

Actually 02 and up have the glass window. No 17's until 04 though. 00-03 2.0 and 9k, 04+ 2.2 and 8k. I think it really just depends on which one you think looks better.

 

After some quick reading I think my question is:
AP1 or AP2 and why...

I need to drive an AP1
AP2 needs boost imo
