Default Would 156,000 scare you?

Very..very interested in an '07 Silver S2000..great looking
car..also with the red interior..great looking aftermarket blackened
wheels!
Can tell from pics it's been lowered(not slammed) a bit...but
with 156,000 miles that concerns me!

The lot of course claims all highway miles(duh)and really
visually the only prob I have with the car is some pitting
on the red engine cover area..it has areas where the finish is like
peeled off..never seen that before and I've looked at prolly
15-20 S2000's
They are asking $12,950.

how many owners? maintenance records? mileage is not terrible if it's been taken care of. price seems high though.

That is a lot of miles for an 07. As far as the peeling red paint, my 2002 has a someh flaked off. Bought it like that. One owner before me cared for car well, but engine bay is pristine so I wouldn't worry bout that.

The price is alot for 156k miles, at some point the engine is likely to require an overhaul. But if the car has maintenance records and the car isn't beaten to death "I" would be interested in it.

Get a low mileage Ap1 if $12-13k is your budget. U can always do a Ap2 conversion down the road if u choose to.

Something else that concerns me is it has staggered wheels....
to me would have to think the guy was more than your average
schmoe(like me...still OEM after 2 years!).....

and I for the life of me dont understand how an engine..especially
an '07 would have a scratched engine cover like that!

The miles are scary though...I doubt I could ever resell if I bought!

The flaking is due to heat and the paint drying out. My AP2 started doing that at 60k miles, which were in Arizona. I had it redone here in Boston in wrinkle red powder coat.

So don't pay attention to the cover, it's just from constant heat.

Have a compression test and have the car checked out by a trusted mechanic. If the previous owner has the maintenance records and it was serviced at regular intervals I wouldn't worry too much. I imagine there is some wiggle room on that price.
